Android 2.1 Eclair

Android 2.1 Eclair was a version of Android, released in January 2010.[1] Its predecessor was Android 2.0 Eclair and its successor was Android 2.2 Froyo. It was released with the Nexus One, the first Nexus phone.[2] Google ended market support for Android 2.1 and older on June 30, 2017. Google ceased Android Market/Play Store support for Android Eclair on June 30, 2017, it is unknown if they ceased sign-in support for Eclair.

  • Several Minor changes to the API.
  • Several Bug fixes.
  • Pull tab lock screen.[2][3]
  • Live Wallpapers, which allowed home screen backgrounds to be animated.[2][3]
  • Full-screen app drawer.[2]
  • Revamp of clock, gallery, and music apps.[2]
  • New apps -- News and Weather and Google Voice.[2]
  • Supports Speech-to-text on the keyboard.[3]
  • More in the Android Market than ever!
