Wear OS is a modified version of Android designed specifically for smartwatches.
It was released at Google I/O 2014, and was launched on two devices, the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live, and was later released to the Moto 360 on September 5, 2014.

Wear OS was originally launched under the name Android Wear, but was changed to Wear OS on March 15 2018[1],
