Rooting is the act of using an application (such as z4root, GingerBreak, etc.) to gain Superuser privileges. This voids the phone's warranty and may cause your phone harm, so be careful when rooting.

Methods[edit | edit source]
Via 1-click root[edit | edit source]
1-click root is useless on new phones, but due to an exploit on old phones, root access was as easy as using APKs.
Via USB[edit | edit source]
Before using this method, it is recommended to make a full backup of your device via TWRP.
This method requires USB debugging and OEM unlocking. Not all phones have an OEM unlock feature, so download mode is required on such devices. If you do not OEM unlock, your phone will be bricked! First, flash TWRP on device via Odin. After this, reboot your phone and download the Magisk APK. Do not install it, rather rename the file to "Magisk.zip" and install it via TWRP.
